Abstract

Tinder, a dating that is mobile (application), facilitates the initiation of the latest, potentially romantic relationships and encourages it self as a social finding platform dominating the U.S. With 1.4 billion swipes each day. This exploratory research investigates exactly exactly how people participate in relationship initiation behaviors through Tinder and highlights how social relationship initiation, selection procedures, and strategic pre-interaction habits are evolving through contemporary-mediated culture that is dating. Individuals (N = 395) were recruited from Amazon’s Mechanical Turk to complete an on-line survey about their Tinder usage. The analysis employed descriptive statistics and thematic analysis to investigate cause of picking and Tinder that is deleting procedures, swiping methods, and Tinder hookup tradition.
